Gordon and Michelle are one of the sweetest couples ever! Their July wedding at French Creek Golf Club was a mixture of adorable moments, true love, and fun had by all!
How they met (in the words of Michelle): “We met when we were 14 through mutual friends, but didn’t really get to know one another due to going to different schools. I transferred to Gordon’s school my sophomore year and his freshman year and he was the only person I knew in Biology. One day I asked to borrow his lab report rubric and the rest of the year was spent not paying any attention to Bio class at all. Now it’s been almost 9 years and we’re finally getting married.”
How he proposed (as told by Michelle): “It was a doozy. Gordon and I had been planning the wedding before he actually proposed with a ring because we were having one custom made. We put a deposit on our venue and I bought my dress before there was a “real” proposal. Gordon is outgoing and quite the showman and his favorite hobby is dragging me center stage with him. He once sang to me in front of our entire high school during an assembly and I thought I was going to die of embarrassment. So I naturally assumed that he had planned some big public proposal right around the holidays and was constantly on high alert. Gordon had planned two proposals that got botched, one at the Philadelphia Christmas Village (we missed the train) and one at Longwood Gardens where I swore I could hear the ring box in his pocket and was so mad when we left and he didn’t propose (he couldn’t find the special spot he wanted to pop the question at and it was bitter cold).
The next week on a Friday night, I got home late from the movies and Gordon greeted me at the door. He took my purse and gave me my comfy clothes to change into and led me to our kitchen. All of the lights in the apartment were off and the entire kitchen was lit up with tea candles and fairy lights. On the table was every note I had every written him in high school and college, a bottle of my favorite wine, and ramen from my favorite restaurant – which he drove to Lancaster and back to get! We ate dinner with music playing in the background and then we slow danced to a few of our favorite songs in our tiny kitchen while we told me about the previous proposal attempts and why they didn’t work out. He said there probably wasn’t a better place in the world to propose than right here in our kitchen while I was wearing my PJ’s and then he got down on one knee and asked. I obviously said yes and here we are!”
French Creek Golf Club truly is a magical place for a wedding! The light colored walls and beautifully decorated rooms are a photographer’s dream! Gordon and Michelle had been planning on an outside ceremony, but it had to be moved indoors at the last minute due to the amount of rain we received that day. Thankfully the rain was long gone by the time portraits rolled around!
Gordon and Michelle were an absolute blast to work with! They are such fun, happy people, and their wedding truly was a reflection of that! Lots of laughter and good times were experienced by all who attended! We loved all of the blush and gold accents, and the cake may be one of our absolute favorites! The sparkler send-off at the end of the night really tied things together beautifully, and we would like to wish this sweet couple a lifetime of laughter, love, and tons of crazy adventures!
