“We’re no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I. A full commitment’s what I’m thinkin’ of. You wouldn’t get this from any other guy. I just wanna tell you how I’m feelin’. Gotta make you understand. Never gonna give you up. Never gonna let you down. Never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry. Never gonna say goodbye. Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you…”

When planning a winter wedding, most of my brides dream of a gorgeous snow-covered landscape. Snowflakes will gently fall from the sky as they experience the magical moment of seeing their groom for the very first time. It sounds magical, doesn’t it? However with the crazy way our weather has been changing over the last few years, the perfect winter day can sometimes seem completely out of reach
Karyssa Homyak had been hoping for just such a day for her marriage to local Johnstown dentist, Matt Sroka, but as the day grew closer, it certainly didn’t seem like she was going to get her wish. But the perfect snowfall came just a day early, and colder temperatures managed to lock the falling flakes in place so that when the morning of her wedding day dawned, there was a gorgeous coat of snow. It truly was the perfect winter day!
Green Gables Restaurant, a popular eatery and venue in Jennerstown, Pennsylvania, had been decked out with a gorgeous variety of Christmas berries, greens, and rustic decorations, and their beautiful stream complete with a small waterfall made the perfect spot for Karyssa and Matt’s absolutely adorable “First Look”. The look of amazement and excitement on Matt’s face as he saw his beautiful bride for the first time was truly memorable, and much to our surprise, a few stray snowflakes even fell from the sky as they laughed, walked, and danced through their wedding portrait session.
Guests gathered inside the candlelit restaurant hall as Karyssa and Matt said their vows before God and were pronounced husband and wife in a sweet, simple ceremony. Confetti poppers added a fun surprise twist to the recessional, and we took advantage of the glowing twilight to capture just a few more fun portraits.
Karyssa and Matt’s reception was definitely both fun and super unique! From a bridal dance in which the groom came very close to suffering a concussion, to the bride’s sweet duets with one-man-band Kenny Fetterman, it truly was a night to remember. The groom even took to the stage for a song, showing just how much he truly loves his new wife. Lindsay Eileen Photography would like to wish this pair of fellow Star Wars lovers a happily ever after filled with laughter, fun memories, and all the love in the world! Congratulations Matt and Karyssa!
