“Behind every strong Marine there is an even stronger woman who stands by him, supports him, and loves him with all of her heart…”
Sometimes love can take you to some really incredible places! Jean-Claire and Nolan’s love story brought Nathan and myself to the gorgeous metropolis that is Washington D.C. for a fun engagement session at not one, but TWO amazing spots!
We began our late afternoon session at Brookside Gardens, a quiet pretty garden area that also holds weddings on its grounds. Like many of the best locations in this area, Brookside Gardens does require a permit for photographers interest in shooting there, but it was well worth the effort to obtain! Tulips and a few flowering trees as well as a lush tropical conservatory made a spectacular backdrop to showcase this adorable couple.
Jean-Claire and Nolan are just one of those couples who really clicked with us! We loved their fun-loving spirits and their willingness to try pretty much anything we threw their way, and you can really tell just how much they mean to each other. Jean-Claire is a student at George Washington University, while the love of her life, Nolan, is a Marine. Military love stories are special. They require an extra dose of strength, love, and commitment that can stand the test of time, deployments, and missing the person they love most often without a 100% sure date when they will be reunited again. We love working with military couples, and we have so much respect and appreciation for the sacrifices that they make on a daily basis.
As the brilliant D.C. sun slowly began to set, we made our way down to Union Station in the very heart of the city, and let me express here just how gorgeous a location it was! From the towering columns to the blossoming trees across the way, it really was the perfect spot to end our session. We absolutely love the chance to travel, and it is our many super sweet couples who make every mile completely worth it! Nathan and I want to congratulate Nolan and Jean-Claire on their engagement, and we are so excited to see where the future takes them!
