He was her world, and she, the light of his life. And so, the story of our styled wedding shoot begins…”
When New Jersey-based photographer Sara Fitzpatrick and I decided to pool our resources and set up a styled wedding shoot for this spring, we had no idea just how many amazing vendors were going to jump at the chance to work with us on making this dream of ours a reality!We crafted this vision in our heads (and on our Pinterest boards) of an evening luxury elopement set deep in the Poconos. Our setting would be the gorgeous orchard on the grounds of Memorytown USA, a popular wedding venue right in the middle of everything the Pocono Mountains had to offer. Fox and Finch Vintage Rentals provided us with all the amazing furniture needed to make this vision a reality. Their quality pieces were a dream to work with!
Samantha and Vincente are a soon-to-be-wed-in-real-life couple from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, whose wedding I will have the honor of shooting later this year. These two have an genuine, romantic and playful chemistry that I knew would play out so well on camera, and they didn’t disappoint! Samantha wore an ethereal blush gown created according to her measurements by CJ Bridal, and she couldn’t have looked more gorgeous!
I also can’t say enough good things about Jillian and Maria, our hair and make-up team who came all the way from New Jersey armed with all the tools for a successful shoot. We knew we wanted lots of lush greens, pops of everything pink (my favorite color), and our florist made sure we had everything we needed to decorate our table. I found vintage china plates at a local thrift store and paired with some gold chargers, fun mason jars, and pieces of eucalyptus, our elopement table was both colorful, organic, and complete. Sara and I are both huge fans of the naked cake trend, so we were over-the-top excited when a friend of Sara’s who had recently opened “Sweets by Sara” provided us with the perfect cake for our bride and groom to cut. The cake was fun to cut and even more fun to eat!
I am definitely in love with the concept of the luxury styled elopement. It’s the perfect alternative for a couple who craves an intimate wedding yet wants the luxury of a gorgeous wedding. Find somewhere beautiful, rent one table or two, deck them out in the prettiest flowers you can find, grab your dream dress and of course your dream guy, and say “I do” under the summer sky.
