Love’s never come my way. I’ve never been this far, ’cause you took these two left feet and waltzed away with my heart. No, I don’t dance, but here I am spinning you around and around in circles. It ain’t my style, but I don’t care. I’d do anything with you anywhere. Yes, you got me in the palm of your hand, girl, ’cause, I don’t dance…”

When we think about 2020, for those of us in the wedding industry, it will probably be remembered as the year we threw our planners and schedules completely out the window. We had originally planned for Kayla and Dalton’s engagement session to happen earlier in the spring, but when covid hit, not only were we unable to photograph sessions, but when we were finally able to pick up our cameras again, the hair salons and make-up artists were not yet open for business! So we waited, and waited some more. But when we were finally able to get these two on the books, it was definitely a session to remember!
Kayla and Dalton are getting married at one of our FAVORITE Maryland farm venues, Pond View Farms, and from the beginning, Kayla and I chatted quite a bit about their engagement session! One of the things she was hoping for was a location that would allow their sweet dog Bentley to be a part of the session. We had originally considered a location in Annapolis, Maryland, but when things in Maryland didn’t open quite as planned, we switched to one of my favorite outdoor locations in central PA, Gifford Pinchot State Park.
One of the best things about Gifford Pinchot is the variety of photogenic outdoor spaces it offers. From the grassy fields to the lake shores, it offers couples the option to not just pose at the edge of the water, but also get right on in at the designated swim zone. Kayla and Dalton were such good sports, and didn’t bat an eye at any of my crazy suggestions. We are counting down the days until their wedding next May!
