“And darling I will be loving you ’til we’re 70, and baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23. And I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways, maybe just the touch of a hand. Oh, me, I fall in love with you every single day, and I just wanna tell you I am…”
With a start to their love story very similar to my own, Nicole Mallott and Rich Smith initially started talking on Facebook. The two met in person for the first time at Nicole’s birthday party/bonfire, and it was soon apparent that they were destined to be together. Rich came to America from England as a young man, and created a life for himself, first working on a farm and eventually starting “The Royal United Company, which provides customized game bird and sporting clay shooting packages as well as habitat management.
In April of 2016, on a vacation to Myrtle Beach, Rich proposed to his lovely wife-to-be after dinner at an experience similar to “Medieval Times” and during a romantic stroll along the coast at sunset. She said yes, and the two began to plan their February wedding at Whitetail Resort near the Pennsylvania/Maryland border.
I don’t think anyone could have anticipated the crazy weather we would have that weekend! From pouring rain to extreme wind gusts, it was certainly a day to remember, and Nicole and Rich handled it like pros. Even though their ceremony had to be moved indoors, it was an absolutely magical night.
The ski resort provided a truly romantic setting for their reception as you could see the skiers and snowboarders braving the snowy slopes through the great windows at the head of the room. This was the first time this space has been used by Whitetail for a reception venue, and the staff really outdid themselves with the set-up and service. From start to finish, Nicole and Rich had an absolutely amazing start to their new lives together as husband and wife.
Lindsay Eileen Photography would like to thank the new Mr. and Mrs. Rich Smith for allowing us to capture their special day, and to wish them a forever filled with all things outdoors, laughter, and a love that continues to cross oceans and span continents!
