Our sweet Sophia joined us just before Christmas at UPMC Pinnacle in Harrisburg after 4 and 1/2 hours of induced labor and 10 minutes of pushing! After 2 hours on pitocin, the anesthesiologist, my own personal Christmas angel, appeared and gave me an epidural that was absolutely magical! It allowed me to relax, and that relaxation allowed her to make her appearance shortly afterward. They barely got the doctor in the room in time.
Fittingly, she was born while I was watching the end of a Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel, which I had done so often during the last weeks of my pregnancy with her. She came so fast that the nurses told me I probably broke some sort of record for fastest induced labor and delivery. We couldn’t be happier with our sweet almost-Christmas baby!
